Now Playing: "Blues Verite" by Maynard Silva
Well, my brother emailed me from his wife's office. Apparently they rode out the hurricane well enough but just don't have any power.
Right now, I'm glad I have tonight off without any plans. I haven't bothered to get more than three hours of sleep at a time for the last couple of days so I plan to knock myself out tonight to get at least eight hours of undisturbed bliss.

I don't like Mondays...
Somewhat of a weird weekend...
Caught The Radiators as planned Friday night and it was the best show I've seen by them in a while I think.
Got home around 4 AM and found a neighbor on my from steps. A story for another time perhaps...
Spent a rainy Saturday vegging out. I don't think I did much beyond watching TV and finishing off the latest F. Paul Wilson novel ("Criss Cross" I think it was titled).
I spent Sunday a little under the weather. It took me all day to drag my arse out of the house to go to the gym and run some errands.
What was weird is that I kept running into people everywhere I went. Admittedly, most of that was family. I also ran into the girl I used to know and seemed to have been in the back of my mind off and on for a while. Weird.
Cute girl and all but her personality never clicked with me. Oh well. I think I need to get out more often and meet some new people...
I think I'll call my brother in Pensacola, FL again and see if I can find out if he made it through the latest hurricane in decent shape.

Now Playing: Visions Of An Inner Mounting Apolcalypse
Well, I made it to the top of Mt. Lafayette again bit I'm paying for it now.
I felt some things in my left knee rub together that kind of shouldn't so I kept most of my weight on my right. Almost lost the use of that hip on the way down.
Still, it was a beautiful day for it. It's just too bad the girls backed out...or maybe not. It's probably all good that they didn't see me in sweaty misery come to think about it.
Polished off "Nothing's Sacred" by Lewis Black. Funny read. He's definately this generation's George Carlin.
I'm looking forward to catching The Radiators this Friday at the Ocean Mist in RI.

Well, my CD burner seems to be toast. More money...
At least I passed my DOT physical (sort of).
I'm planning on tackling Mt. Lafayette in NH on Sunday. That should sweat a few pounds off of me. I guess I'll be spending the 4th recovering.
For some reason, I'm in the mood for a martini...

Now Playing: "All I Want" by John Mooney
Ugh...I caught some kind of bug or maybe I'm becoming allergic to something.
On top of that, either my burner is on the way out or I have problems with the wiring of my home. Either way, I'm looking at money I don't have. I need a part-time job...sigh...
At least I passed my DOT physical...sort of...

Woohoo, The Radiators are playing the Ocean Mist in RI on July 7th and 8th. I have to go to one of those...
Then again, I still haven't bought tickets for this week's Cowboy Junkies concert at the Somerville Theatre.
I'm feeling more than a little bit burnt out. I have to go get some more sleep I guess.

Nothing of interest to say today. Just busy going to work and pondering the nature of the universe...

Hmmm, who's the greatest living traditional blues slide guitar player?
I was told that he might be at this year's Boston Blues Festival and that he doesn't live in this country...hmmmmm....

Ugh, what a day
Now Playing: The new Audioslave CD
Awww, man. It took me 4 hours longer to get my job done yesterday. I won't get into the details on that particular irritation. I just hope the people I drive for get their computers straightened out soon.
I wanted to buy some new music to rock out to at the gym so I picked up the new Audioslave CD at Newbury Comics without hearing anything off of it before hand. I also raided the used CD bins for a Rory Block album (after hearing her play "Rock Island Line" with Paul Rishell and Annie Raines on the radio a while back).
Well, I see myself keeping the Rory Block CD and trading in that Audioslave disc really soon (perhaps even this weekend).
I love their first album but their latest one just doesn't seem to have any teeth to me.
Let's see...there was some more aggravation involving the family car...I won't drag that one on. Everyone's been there.
I was looking forward to going out that evening and stopping off at this Mexican grill next to Boston University while I was out but they decided they would close early for the holiday. So much for me being a loyal customer, I guess I'll be going to a place closer to home next time.
I ended up eating at a hot dog restaruant. Two of them opened up in Allston. I hope it isn't some kind of trend. Neither could pull off an authentic Chicago dog anyways.
My bill came to six dollars and sixty-six cents. Make of that what you will.
At least the Jiggle The Handle reunion was a good time despite some soreness in my feet. I'm glad I have a visit with the doctor scheduled for this Friday.
